Lɨl
Western Redbud (Cercis occidentalis)
- Lɨl is used for red decoration in basketweaving.
- From winter to spring, lɨl produces purple-pink edible flowers that can be eaten raw or used to make an infused beverage.
- Lɨl grows thin, brown, 3-inch long legume pods that persist through winter.
- Carpenter bees are great pollinators for lɨl.
