Munmún

White Sagebrush (Artemisia ludoviciana)

  • Munmún has a variety of medicinal uses. For example, its leaves could be smoked, eaten, or boiled into a tea to treat colds.
  • Both white sagebrush and mugwort have the same name in Nisenan: munmún.

Homodíbe mɨɨm? (Where is it?) You can find munmún growing on the side of the Tribal Admin building. Look for it on the way to the Acorn Pool.

Esak’ahá daak’ábe mi c’aykɨ́ɨ? (Do you want to know more?) This webpage is part of a larger initiative to share signage highlighting plants found around the Shingle Springs Rancheria and their Nisenan names.
